عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من يقم ليلة القدر إيماناً واحتسابا غفر لله ما تقدم من ذنبه .
فعن أنس ابن مالك رضي الله عنه قال : دخل رمضان فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن هذا الشهر قد حضركم وفيه ليلة خير من ألف شهر من حرمها فقد حرم الخير كله ولا يحرم خيرها إلا محروم.

وعن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت : كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا دخل العشر أحيا الليل وأيقظ أهله وجد وشد المئزر .

وعنها رضي الله عنها : أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يرغِّب الناس في قيام رمضان من غير أن يأمرهم بعزيمة أمر فيه فيقول من قام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه.

وعن عبد الله بن عمرو رضي الله عنهما أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يعتكف العشر الأواخر من رمضان قال نافع وقد أراني عبد الله رضي الله عنه المكان الذي كان يعتكف فيه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من المسجد .
